Kraftwerk were probably the most influential band of the 70s in much the same way The Beatles were in the 60s. Not only did they inform the (not-always-very-good) 1980s Electro bands, but more importantly their role in the history of Hip-Hop via Afrika Bambaata & Soul Sonic Force is absolutely crucial in the development of that most successful new international artform.
Having said that, there have been precious few bands that have successfully developed Kraftwerk’s original style and methodology. So, to come across such an outfit is fortuitous to say the least.
ZZZZZZ hail from Sweden and apply a quite different sense of humour to the basic sound very well indeed to produce a unique sonic niche of their own.
There’s not a lot more I can usefully say other than you'll either hate this or, as in my case, find it right up your street and be overjoyed that there’s a new product of this nature on the market. If this applies to you get along to their web-site or MySpace and order yourself a copy of Holeigans. I can’t wait for the next album!
