I'd just like to say how pleased I am that the summit came to such a positive end. The Americans will be damned whatever they choose to do and there is some evidence that they have achieved as much not having subscribed to Kyoto as most of those who did.
Before we get bogged down by the avalanche of cynicism that will now start in the the wake of the summit, I just want to say well done to all those concerned for this magnificent achievement.
Many of us have who have 'light green' credentials will see this as real and genuine progress - I know there are plenty of deep green fascists and anti-globalisationists who will pour on plenty of scorn - I hope they choke on it!

"Light green" - I like that, I've not heard it before... Are we light green if we collect cans from events to take home and recycle? Can we drive?
Anyway, I'm pleased too - but it is noteworthy that the US is actually doing better than the UK since we signed Kyoto and without damaging their economy. Not that ours has necessarily been damaged yet...

I suppose to be Light Green is taking pragmatic & reasonable action to protect the environment and setting a good example to others without proselitising or trying to force them to be exactly the same
If everyone did this we would be a darnsight further forward than when a few radicals change their lifestyles totally and put everybody else's backs up by teling them to be as holy as they are or rot in hell!
